Successful Wedding Tips (4) – Corral Your Bridal Party
Yesterday we filmed a wedding at a church, then drove to the Reception site to film the Family Photos, which were to take place right before the Grand Entrance. Unfortunately, the directions were bad, and many bridal party and family members wandered through the streets while time ticked away. Without everyone there, we waited close to two hours and watched the sun slip behind the mountains.
I got some great shots of the couple in the meantime, but the lesson learned – take the family photos immediately after signing your license. Otherwise they will disperse to the shadows, and you’ll have to hunt them down like a hootin’ cowboy. What’s more: don’t let them get into their cars and assume they will arrive on time with cheery smiles. Even with good directions, you’re allowing too much to go wrong. A good photographer will hustle through the family shots, so even if you’d be rushed at the church, get ’em done and hit the trail!
