WE HAVE A 9LB BABY BOY!
Melana woke me at 1am and we began to time her contractions at seven minutes apart, which quickly turned to four. Our midwife was on the way. In 40 minutes we were at 1 1/2 minutes apart and her water had broken.
Melana was gripping my hand so hard I thought my fingers were going to break, but she was focused and I was telling her how much time left she had on the contractions. When the midwife finally arrived the baby was crowning and in less than five minutes (2:44am) Melana was holding our new 9lb baby.
He is already lifting his head and nursing. We are very blessed.
